Abiding Kids

Abiding Kids is a fun respite care program where kids with special needs and their siblings get to hang out, play games, and make new friends from 10 am to 1 pm. Each child is paired with a buddy for a few hours of smiles, support, and one-on-one fun.
Parents/Caregivers: Be sure to sign up each child who will attend and remember to pack a lunch for each of your family members attending! If you have not completed an intake form and met with the Special Needs Director, please contact Rachel Garcia at rgarcia@idlewild.org to ensure all requirements are completed prior to the event.
Buddies: No experience needed - just a big heart and a couple of hours to share. Volunteers will meet at 9:30 am in the Special Needs Suite. Kids arrive at 10 am and leave at 1 pm. Lunch is included for you as a thank you for serving. It’s a fun morning and it makes a HUGE difference for families.
